Build Your Future Arizona (BYFA) projects demand at an additional 4,174 HVAC professionals in Arizona through 2024.* This demand for additional HVAC technicians is being spawned by the increase in temperature extremes and expansion of the economy in Phoenix. More residential and commercial structures need the help of HVAC technicians to keep temperatures stable and air quality healthy.

Electrician

BYFA projects demand for electricians at an additional 15,368 Arizona job opportunities by the end of 2024.** All structures need electricity, which means there is a demand for electricians to install, maintain and repair electrical wiring and smart technology in commercial and residential structures across Phoenix.

Welding

BYFA projects demand for an additional 21,601 pipefitters, sheet metal workers and welders by the end of 2024 in Arizona.*** The federal government is earmarking more money for infrastructure, and this includes bridges, roads and other infrastructure in Arizona.

Whether it is structural welding, pipefitters or manufacturing, additional welders are needed to meet demand.

Benefit #1: Hands-on Experience

Many female students will get the opportunity to learn both classroom theory and gain hands-on experience in a trade by attending trade programs at RSI.

With small class sizes and guidance from industry experienced instructors, future tradeswomen will get a jump start on an apprenticeship. With hands-on training, they will have previous experience and prove to employers that they can perform the trade successfully.

There will continue to be a need for trade professionals in the coming years. Technology will not replace trade workers.

Trade Programs Offered by RSI

There are many trade programs offered to tradeswomen that will help them build the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in HVAC, electrical applications, and welding.

HVAC Program

At RSI, we offer a Refrigeration Technologies program that teaches students the electrical and mechanical principles of HVAC and refrigeration systems. You learn the fundamentals of diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems.

Electrical Applications Program

During our Electrical Applications program, you learn hands-on in real-world scenarios, while you are guided through a curriculum by industry experienced instructors. During the curriculum, you learn about the fundamentals of electricity, residential and commercial electrical wiring, smart home technology, motors and lighting practices and electrical distribution systems.

Welding Program

If you are interested in becoming a welding specialist, RSI offers a Welding Specialist program that prepares graduates for entry-level position in welding. Whether it is welding fundamentals, GMAW or FCAW processes, structural welding, or pipe welding, you will receive hands-on experience working with welding machines and in real world scenarios.
