Are you getting into the welding trade and want to know more about welding aluminum? Well, you have come to the right place. This article will review the different welding techniques that you can use to weld aluminum. Each technique has its pros and cons, but once you learn both of them you will be able to weld anything that you encounter, including aluminum.

How to Weld Aluminum?

There are a few options for welding aluminum. The best options are MIG and TIG welding. The main difference between MIG and TIG welding is that MIG uses a solid wire that is machine fed whereas TIG welding uses non-consumable electrodes that are fed into the weld by hand.

MIG Welding – metal inert gas welding is the process of joining two pieces of aluminum together using a consumable wire electrode and an inert shielding gas. In simple terms, it is the process of creating an electric arc form between the electrode and aluminum, heating the aluminum until it melts and joins together.

TIG Welding – tungsten gas welding is a process that joins aluminum together using a non-consumable tungsten electrode.
